Abstract:   The United States Core Data for Interoperability (USCDI) is a standardized set of health data classes and constituent data elements for nationwide, interoperable health information exchange. The first version of the United States Core Data for Interoperability (USCDI v1) is adopted as a standard in the ONC Cures Act Final Rule. The USCDI sets a foundation for broader sharing of electronic health information to support patient care. A USCDI “Data Class” is an aggregation of various Data Elements by a common theme or use case. A USCDI “Data Element” is the most granular level at which a piece of data is exchanged. The Nursing Knowledge: Big Data Policy and Advocacy Workgroup submitted the NCSBN ID for consideration of inclusion in the USCDI v2 under the Data Class Care Team Member(s) and the NCSBN ID as the Provider Identifier. The Care Team Members represent the specific person(s) who participate or are expected to participate in the care team.
